Across the Void
Listen
Premise
Across the Void was the inspiration for making a space-themed “concept” album (which is still sort-of/kind-of in the works?). It was the first real track I’d made attempting to capture a synthwave sound. I failed miserably, but the creativity kind of took off in another direction when I found some crazy pads for what was planned to be an interlude. What ended up happening was some sort of Pink Floyd-ianesque journey into the “void”. After the main “drop”, there’s a vocoder, “herald of the void”, that speaks an ominous warning just as the listener falls over the proverbial cliff and enters the void’s domain
You will not Escape. The Void, it will take you. If you wish to die. Across the Void you must fly.
The “Void”
In my head-cannon for the concept of the album, the “void” is a mysterious and dark and possibly semi-sentient vastness at the scale of galactic superclusters (hundreds of millions of lightyears in dimension). A growing nothingness that lurks in the emptiness between the supercluster filaments consuming the energy of anything that enters its domain.
